Its rise was meteoric: in 1855, at the Paris World’s Fair, it was awarded the status of Fourth Grand Cru Classé, a distinction that still defines our standards today.
1897–1924: A historic first union
Under the impetus of the Audon family, the destinies of Château Lafon-Rochet and Château Lilian Ladouys crossed paths for the first time. This union of 75 hectares foreshadowed the synergy that drives our estates today.
The 20th Century: Renaissance and Modernity
The estate underwent a transformation under the Tesseron family (1960–2021). From the complete reconstruction of the château to the creation of its famous ‘golden yellow’ identity and its innovative cellars (stainless steel and concrete), Lafon-Rochet established itself as a model of technical and architectural modernisation.
2021: The Lorenzetti Family’s Ambition
A century after their first union, the Lorenzetti family has reunited Lafon-Rochet and Lilian Ladouys. This merger gave rise to Vignobles Cruse-Lorenzetti, a prestigious portfolio that also includes the Châteaux d’Issan (Margaux) and Pédesclaux (Pauillac).
2024–2025: A New Sustainable Momentum
Today, a major chapter is being written:
● Organic Commitment: Both our estates are now certified organic.
● Unification: Château Lilian Ladouys has been integrated into the Lafon-Rochet group to create a range of three complementary wines.
● Succession: In 2025, Félix Pariente-Lorenzetti (nephew of Jacky and Françoise Lorenzetti) took over as chairman of the estates, thereby upholding the family spirit and the group’s tradition of excellence.
